3M Research and Development is seeking manufacturing engineer intern candidates to work in Materials Resource Division facilities. The target start date for this position is May/June 2015.
Job Description
An intern (typical 10-12 week, full-time schedule assignment) position is a temporary assignment with 3M's Corporate Student Programs. Corporate Student Programs is designed to provide 3M with the opportunity to identify qualified candidates for regular employment, and to provide students with the opportunity to integrate their academic knowledge with work experience. As a Student Programs participant located in a 3M Materials Resource Division Facility you will develop skills, and gain work experience in your field of study.
Typical assignments may include the following activities:
- Develop an understanding and provide support to manufacturing processes
- Apply basic engineering principles to resolve common process issues
- Participate on product / process improvement teams
- Perform laboratory experiments in support of process improvement and scale changes
- Communicate results in both oral and written form
- Work with multiple levels of the
Organization
to ensure project acceptance
Basic
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Science or Engineering at a accredited university having completed at a minimum your Sophomore year
- Current minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's level or higher degree program in Chemical Engineering, with an accredited university,
This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
Location: The person hired for this position will be located at 3M's location in Decatur, AL and subsidized housing will be provided for those who qualify
